I am delighted to be writing you today to share good news about our plans for in-person Commencement celebrations for the Class of 2021.
We are still awaiting additional guidance from New York state on COVID-19 public health measures for graduation events. But we are moving forward, in the interim, with plans that adhere to ongoing essential public health measures of masking, physical distancing, and outdoor gathering. COVID-19 still poses a health risk to our campus and surrounding communities, and, while vaccination levels are rising, we expect that the pandemic will remain a significant concern throughout the summer. For that reason, it is important to emphasize that all of the below plans are contingent on the public health situation and on state guidance; should COVID-19 cases on campus, or in the region, increase, it remains possible that we may be forced to revise these plans and, potentially, to

Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande get major payout after BTS HYBE buys Ithaca Holdings
Scooter Braun has officially promised artists like Ariana Grande, J Balvin and Justin Bieber major equity payouts after HYBE agreed to buy Ithaca Holdings.
The entire deal between Braun and BTS’s agency HYBE has reportedly come up to $1.05 billion and a sum of $40 million will be paid in equity to staff and artists out of stake.
According to
Billboard, a total of 39 people, including Braun himself, and Big Machine Label Group CEO Scott Borchetta are reported to gain $161 million in shares from the transaction.

In the merger between BTS’ label HYBE and Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings, Braun’s SB Projects (SBP) roster of clients among them Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, J Balvin and Demi Lovato are set to become significant shareholders in a capital increase meant to fortify the bond between both companies, according to a Korean regulatory filing.
A total of 863,209 new shares were issued, at $186 a share, for a total value of $160.5 million. Of those shares, 462,380 were allocated to Braun himself, and 166,537 were allocated to Scott Borchetta, CEO of Big Machine Label Group, which Ithaca acquired in 2018. A commitment of $50 million from the purchase price was also divvied up to acts and employees who have been with Scooter Braun since he started SBP
ITHACA, NY (WSKG) Following weeks of speculation that its police reform plans would lead to “abolishing” the police department, the Ithaca Common Council voted to approve its recommendations Wednesday.

Amid a few hours of deliberating over particularities in the wording of the proposals, it was clear that common council supported a continued role of police in the city, albeit as part of a new overarching department.
At one point during the meeting, Councilor Donna Flemming offered an amendment to the resolution to eliminate a specific line dealing with what had been originally coined as the Department of Community Solutions and Public Safety. Flemming’s amendment would remove the term “create a department” from the recommendation.
Context
After his prison release in July 2019, Rivera started working for nonprofits that aim to eliminate economic and racial disparities in Tompkins County s criminal justice system and volunteered to help homeless residents stay healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. To brainstorm ideas to reform local policing in 2021, local officials picked roughly 40 people including Rivera to help them gather information from historically marginalized groups.
