Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], January 16 (ANI): Indore Police arrested two persons from the Khajrana area for allegedly smuggling tiger skin and turtles of special species.
Harinarayan Chari Mishra, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Indore told reporters, Acting on an information, Khajrana Police arrested the accused Prakash and Sunil who came here for smuggling of tiger skin and turtles. Police seized a tiger skin and two turtles from their possession.
According to police, the tiger skin is said to be 20-year-old. After interrogating the accused, it was revealed that the tiger skin had been brought from Nursingpur Gadarwara. The person who supplied these skins and turtles to the accused has also been taken into custody, added Mishra

The bail hearing of comedian Munawar Faruqui, who was arrested over alleged indecent remarks made against Hindu deities and Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a show in Indore earlier this month, was adjourned by the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Thursday after the police failed to produce the case diary. The bail pleas of Mr Faruqui and four other stand-up comedians who have been arrested in this case, have already been rejected by lower courts.
Munawar Faruqui s lawyer Anshuman Shrivastav alleged that this was a tactic used by the police to harass Mr Faruqui. The bail plea will now be heard next week.

Article 14 reported on Thursday, quoting Indore Superintendent of Police Vijay Khatri. Faruqui had been arrested from a cafe in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore city on January 1 for allegedly hurting religious sentiments, and has since been in custody.
The comedian was arrested only on the basis of claims made by a Hindutva vigilante group, the policeman told the website.
Khatri said that the arrest was made on basis of a complaint by Eklavya Singh Gaur, chief of Hindutva group Hind Rakshak Sangathan, who said he had overheard jokes during rehearsal. However, the police officer, said that the lack of video evidence or otherwise, was not a concern, reported

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], January 13 (ANI): Twelve people, including five women, were arrested by the Indore Police in Rajendra Nagar area on Monday for allegedly being involved in a sex racket. The police have busted a sex racket which was being operated from two hotels in Indore and arrested 12 people including five women for their involvement in the matter, Additional Superintendent of Police Prashant Choubey told reporters here. The two main accused, Kamal and Kuldeep, have been arrested along with the managers of two hotels. During the investigation, it was found that they are involved in a racket in which they marry off girls and later call them back, he added.
