A furry friend deployed from Fort Wayne church helping those mourning from Indianapolis shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne s NBC) To help those grieving after the mass shooting in Indianapolis, Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne is providing a furry friend for comfort.
Lutheran Church Charities is a non-profit organization that has 130 K-9 comfort dogs in 27 other states. They re partnering with Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
One of those dogs right here in Fort Wayne, Jared the Comfort Dog.
President & CEO of the Lutheran Church Charities Tim Hetzner told Fort Wayne s NBC News Jared arrived to Indianapolis Friday afternoon and will be there until Tuesday.

A 24-year-old BLM activist was indicted this week for attempting to murder Portland Police officers by using explosive devices during the 2020 riots in downtown Portland.
Malik Muhammed, 24, was arrested in Indianapolis Friday on eight warrants out of Portland.
Attempted aggravated murder (two counts);
Attempted assault in the first degree (two counts);
Attempted murder in the first degree (four counts);
Attempted murder in the second degree (two counts);
Criminal mischief in the first degree (six counts);
Riot (four counts);
Unlawful possession of a destructive device (two counts);
Unlawful possession of a firearm (one count);
Unlawful possession of a loaded firearm (one count);

Virginia’s NCAA tournament preparation is unlike anything done before. With the majority of the team in quarantine until Thursday and a first-round matchup Saturday, the Cavaliers might practice together as a squad just once before taking the floor against Ohio.
Despite all of that, though, they still have an opportunity and that’s all Bennett can ask for, the glimmer of light at the end of a nerve-wracking week of testing and containment.
“This is certainly a unique way to prepare for the NCAA tournament,” Bennett said. “But I’m thankful that the NCAA gave our young men the chance because they earned their way into it the chance to get into this tournament considering our circumstances.”
