TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Lightning is extremely dangerous in a storm because it can happen anywhere. To stay safe during storms you need to know what options you have.
Twenty-five million lightning strikes occur on average each year in the United States. Many people are injured from indirect strikes. But only 10 percent of all lightning injuries result in death. The last fatality in Indiana occurred last year in 2020 when a construction worker was on the roof of a house.

(TERRE HAUTE, Ind.) The Storm Team is tracking below freezing temperatures and possible snow moving into the Wabash Valley. So what does that mean for your plants?
On Monday, the Indianapolis National Weather Service issued a Freeze Warning for the Wabash Valley from Tuesday at 10:00 pm ET to Wednesday at 10:00 am ET.
Recent warmer conditions had residents preparing their gardens for a successful spring, however, mother nature has decided we re not quite in the clear when it comes to freezing temperatures.

IVY JACOBS PHOTO - The City of Brazil has been busy due to the recent winter blast. City employees worked in frigid temperatures to fix an eight-inch water line break near the 300 block of north Hoosier Street Tuesday night.
Freezing temperatures caused a break in an eight-inch city water line on Tuesday, but it was repaired without the need for a boil order.
Brazil Mayor Brian Wyndham was with the city water department crew at the water line break near the 300 block of north Hoosier Street during the repair process that took six-seven hours. The rupture, which was repaired shortly after midnight, only affected the city water customers in that area.
