Former VP Mike Pence Has Successful Surgery to Implant Pacemaker
Former Vice President Mike Pence has undergone surgery to have a pacemaker implanted to treat symptoms related to a slow heart rate, his office said on Thursday.
Pence underwent the heart procedure on Wednesday at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, Virginia. His office said the former vice president’s surgery was successful and he is expected to recover and return to normal activity soon.
“I am grateful for the swift professionalism and care of the outstanding doctors, nurses and staff at Inova Heart and Vascular Institute,” Pence said in the statement. “My family has been truly blessed by the work of these dedicated healthcare professionals.”

FALLS CHURCH, Va. â Former Vice President Mike Pence underwent a surgery Wednesday to have a pacemaker implanted.
A statement from Pence s office on Thursday said he experienced symptoms associated with a slow heart rate over the past two weeks, and he underwent the procedure at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, Virginia.

Former Vice President Mike Pence had a pacemaker implanted on Wednesday after experiencing symptoms associated with a slowed heart rate, his office announced Thursday.
Pence s office said he had been dealing with those symptoms over the past two weeks and after consulting with doctors, he had the pacemaker surgically implanted in Virginia on Wednesday. They added that the procedure was successful and he is expected to fully recover in the coming days.
In a statement, Pence, 61, praised the medical staff that treated and advised him. I am grateful for the swift professionalism and care of the outstanding doctors, nurses and staff at Inova Heart and Vascular Institute, including Dr. Brett Atwater and Dr. Behnam Tehrani, Pence said.
