Banks is the No. 15 player in the country and the No. 5 player in the state of Texas out of Summer Creek High School in Humble. He held 24 offers but narrowed his field down to five schools - making all five official visits during the month of June. Texas seemed to be in a strong position for his talents but now lost their second priority tackle to Mario Cristobal after Cameron Williams picked the Ducks earlier in the weekend.
Texas has struggled in the last few cycles landing elite in-state linemen, after missing out on the Brockermeyers in the 2021 class, the Longhorns needed a strong showing in 2022. In spite of today’s miss, offensive line coach Kyle Flood managed to secure the commitments of two high-priority in-state targets, Cole Hutson and Connor Robertson, who both project to the interior of the line.

Less than one month after his official visit to the 40 Acres, talented Westlake (Austin, TX) offensive line recruit Connor Robertson committed to the Texas Longhorns on Friday, making him the second offensive line commitment in the Steve Sarkisian era.
Robertson made the announcement via his personal Twitter account.
Now the 14th member in the 2022 class for the Longhorns, Robertson joins quarterback Maalik Murphy and running backs Jaydon Blue and Jamarion Miller, as the only offensive commitments in the class thus far.

The Texas Longhorns were looking for some help in the trenches and the first bit of help arrived as Westlake lineman Connor Robertson made his pledge to Texas and coach Kyle Flood.
The race for the services of the 6’4, 296-pound lineman was considered to be a two-school race, with the Longhorns squaring off against the Stanford Cardinal. However, Robertson only made one visit during the June frenzy the short trip to the Forty Acres. He holds 31 offers heading into a senior year that may see his stock rise as the 2020 football season progresses and Westlake looks to make another deep playoff run.

The Texas Longhorns missed a chance to surge on the recruiting trail when three-star Duncanville offensive tackle Cameron Williams committed to the Oregon Ducks on Thursday over the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns.
The decision comes less than two full months after the Longhorns officially jumped into the mix, getting. alate start in a recruitment that also included options like Miami, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, and Texas A&M. All told Williams tallied 31 offers, and for perspective of just how much ground Texas made up, the Longhorns were his second-to-last offer.
