Personalised funerals are growing in popularity Three in four people (76 per cent) in South East England now feel comfortable talking about their death, a recent study into post-pandemic behaviour towards funerals has revealed. Co-op Funeralcare released data in a report titled ‘My Wishes, My Way’, which showed more than one third (37 per cent) of Brits feel that funerals are too sombre and need to be a celebration of life. This has led to greater levels of personalisation, which is especially appealing to more adults in the South East who wish to have a unique and meaningful funeral, their way. Of the specific aspects that people would like to personalise, over half (59 per cent) said they would choose specific songs and 22 per cent would like a bespoke coffin.
