District 2 - Bemidji area
CO Tom Hutchins (Crookston) reports spending time this past week checking anglers. Time was also spent contacting ATV operators and checking archery deer hunters.
CO Tim Gray (Bagley) checked anglers and trappers. He also registered some fur.
CO Brice Vollbrecht (Bemidji #1) worked angling activity on area lakes. Ice angling activity continues to increase as ice conditions improve. He spent time working on Upper Red Lake, which has been very busy. Angler success was mixed.
CO Chris Vinton (Perham) reports taking several calls about suspicious activity in fish houses on area lakes. Ice conditions remain variable across the station, with typical thicknesses ranging from 6 to 10 inches. A report of a shelter through the ice on Otter Tail Lake was taken, but it was
CO Ryan Brown (Karlstad) reports very little recreational activity due to the holiday season. Anglers reported 10 inches of ice in some spots of the Thief River. ATV enforcement was taken this past week due to no headlights activated while in operation. Snares and traps were checked in the area.
CO Jeremy Woinarowicz (Thief River Falls West) conducted angling and trapping checks in the area. Enforcement action for the past week included ATV registration, angling license and ice shelter license violations.
District 2 - Bemidji area

CO (Conservation Officer) Tom Hutchins (Crookston) reports checking anglers throughout the past week. Time was also spent inspecting aeration systems. Small-game hunters, archery deer hunters, and ATV operators were also checked. Various angling and ATV violations were encountered.
CO Tim Gray (Bagley) checked ice anglers.
CO Brice Vollbrecht (Bemidji #1) monitored ATV activity and ice anglers on area lakes. Vollbrecht also monitored trapping activity in the area. Upper Red lake was also worked several times. Fishing success has slowed on Upper Red Lake. Enforcement action was taken for unregistered ATVs, extra fishing lines, unattended lines, and being in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Weekly DNR Enforcement report for northwest Minnesota: Ice conditions improve but dicey spots persist
Ice on Lake of the Woods is getting thicker, but there is still a considerable amount of movement, creating dangerous areas.

Here is the weekly report from Department of Natural Resources conservation officers in northwest Minnesota and adjacent areas of northern Minnesota for Monday, Dec. 21:
District 1 - Baudette area
CO Ben Huener (Roseau) checked anglers on Lake of the Woods, as well as archery deer hunting and trapping activity around Roseau County. Ice on Lake of the Woods is good for the most part, but stubborn cracks keep opening in several places, keeping anglers from going out very far. Violations for the past week included hunting deer with the aid of bait, possessing an overlimit of walleyes, possession of marijuana, angling with an extra line and felony possession of cocaine.
