Breaking News: Uhuru lifts Cessation of movement, curfew hours extended President Uhuru Kenyatta lifts cessation of movement in and out of the zoned area. The zoned area comprised of Kiambu, Nakuru, Machakos and Kajiado counties. Other measures revised by the government are as follows: Hours of curfew in the zoned area will be between 10 pm and 4 am beginning today midnight. In-person and congregational worship shall resume in strict compliance with the Inter-Faith Council guidelines and the Ministry of Health and shall not exceed a third of the capacity of places of worship. Operations of restaurants and eateries in the zoned area shall resume in strict compliance issued by the government. The facilities are encouraged to utilize outdoor spaces to maximize on physical and social distancing.

Doctor who opposed coronavirus vaccine dies of Covid-19

Kenya Catholic Doctors Association chairman Dr Stephen Karanja (pictured), who spread misleading information on the coronavirus vaccine, has died of Covid-19. Dr Karanja passed away today at the Mater Hospital where he was admitted to the High Dependency Unit. A message seen by The Standard from his colleague Dr Wahome Ngare sent on April 20, said Karanja was admitted due to complications of Covid-19. Covid 19 Time Series   “He is not young and has underlying health problems yet he never left the frontline and has diligently continued taking care of his patients, including relatives with Covid-19, like a true medical soldier,” the message read.

(WTWO/WAWV) “We must protect each other,” Arthur Feinsod, president of the InterFaith Council of the Wabash Valley, said during a Sunday afternoon Zoom memorial for the six women of Asian descent killed March 16 in Atlanta. The vigil was called “Standing with the Asian-American Community,” and the four Sikhs killed in the April 16 Indianapolis shootings were remembered, as well. Co-sponsors of the event included the InterFaith Council of the Wabash Valley, the Sisters of Providence and the Terre Haute Branch of the NAACP. Speakers included Sister Paula Damiano, Rabbi Remy Liverman, Sister Jessica Vitente, Riem Rostom, Terre Haute President of the NAACP Sylvester Edwards, Sinwon Lee Racop and Jean Kristeller.
