Winners of major black and white photo competition revealed

The 7th annual Monochrome Photography Awards winners have been revealed, with over 7,000 images from 91 countries submitted to this year’s competition. The overall winner of the professional category is Ksystof Mozyro, who triumphed with his image, ‘Opponents,’ which show as standoff during a Black Lives Matter protest.
“These photographs were taken on 6th June 2020, during the London protest,” he explains. “I found myself in the centre of the gathering, experiencing the whole range of human emotions and observing the uncommon behaviour… Just around 11 PM, after many hours of standing in the crowd, I was taken for the police investigation. The officer interviewed me and checked the ID. Finally, I was able to leave but advised not to return to the city centre within 24 hours as this would result in being arrested.”

Filipino photographer Jophel Ybiosa harvests 50 awards for the Philippines
The pandemic did not stop Jophel Ybiosa from continuing his winning streak in international photo contests with these images.
Filipino photographer Jophel Botero Ybiosa continued to raise the Philippine flag around the world as he harvested 50 international awards for the Philippines in various tilts.
The 9-time Ani ng Dangal national awardee did not let the coronavirus pandemic stop his winning streak in 2020 and wrapped up the year with the following wins:

Ybiosa entered the contests with varied images he captured from around the world but shares that he favored the winning image about the Filipino people’s devotion to festivals.

Council Announces LEGO Competition Winners
Ararat Rural City Council today announced the winners of the 2020 LEGO building competition in Ararat.
Entries were judged by previous LEGO Masters contestants, Tim and Dannii, using the same criteria used on the show including aesthetics, storytelling and technical ability.
Ararat Rural City Council CEO Tim Harrison said the unpredictability of this year meant we needed to do something different to celebrate Christmas.
“The challenges of 2020 meant we couldn’t organise the usual events and activities to celebrate Christmas,” Dr Harrison said.
“The LEGO competition provided an opportunity for people of all ages to get involved and get creative and submit their entries online.

The 2020 Light Up Strasburg Christmas Light Contest was held with a goal in mind to help brighten this difficult year. Residents were asked to decorate their homes for the season.
This year s contest was a People s Choice competition. Votes were cast for 20 homes in Strasburg.
