Chen Zhong joins CASA as Associate Professor in Urban Analytics

2 February 2021 As of January 2021, CASA is delighted to welcome back Dr Chen Zhong as Associate Professor in Urban Analytics. Chen previously worked with us as a Research Associate between 2014 and 2016.  Chen was trained as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) engineer. She obtained a BEng (2008), MEng (2010) both from Wuhan University, China, and a PhD from ETH Zurich (2014). Since 2016 she has been a Lecturer in Spatial Analysis at King s College London. Her research interests include spatial data mining, spatiotemporal visualisation, complex network analysis, and the use of such analytical techniques for urban and transport planning. Her work is key to CASA s SIMETRI project led by Professor Michael Batty and Dr Duncan Smith, exploring the urbanisation of the Greater Bay Area, the largest metropolitan area in the world which includes Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and the Pearl River Delta.
