POPULAR leaders are frequently depicted in biographies as having lived near-perfect private family lives. Of course, people realise that this is unlikely, but there is frequently no serious questioning.
Winston Churchill is usually depicted as having saved Britain and the British Empire during World War II. He certainly deserves enormous credit for saving Britain, but serious questions could be asked about his role in saving the British Empire.

Growing up at a tender age during Ireland s Eurovision hey day made me a fan but bumping into Linda Martin, Johnny Logan and the team on my Communion day in 1993 turned me into a super fan.
It was the year the Eurovision was held in Millstreet, Co Cork and they were all staying in the Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney. We waved them off in the car park and watched the show in the bar, which I found very cool at the time. Niamh Kavanagh won that year with In Your Eyes .

In reality, we can finally go and stand in front of artworks again. It still feels quite surreal to be standing with the Cork artist in the Lavit Gallery, in front of one of his highly-coloured canvases, A Fertile Land.
