The management of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, said one of its students, Johnson Leyira, had been suspended following his arrest for allegedly vandalising the school property and stealing.
This came barely 24-hours after another student, Chimara Prince, of the Department of Guidance and Counselling was arrested with a sack of Indian hemp on the campus and suspended.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, disclosed the latest incident involving Leyira from the Department of Political Science on his official
Facebook page.
Ndimele said Leyira is the Director of Socials of the National Union of Rivers State Students in the institution, adding that the school security men handed him over to the police for further investigation.

A female English Language graduate of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, who hails from Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Miss Faith Omoniye Lesley, has turned a sensation in the male-dominated fabrication and welding sector in the state. Those who recognise her skills call her ‘Iron woman’ and ‘Woman of steel.’
