No Praise, No Blame, Self-Release, May 2021
About: Formed in Denver in 2002 by the eccentric and prolific Erin Roberts, Porlolo has been a highly collaborative project. Roberts is a powerful songwriting force, cranking out grungy, sometimes twangy, often pure pop hits. Over her last 15 years of deliberate wandering through Denver, Gunnison, Eugene and most recently Fort Collins, Roberts draws inspiration from the dramatic landscapes and even more dramatic personalities.
Says Roberts of her current lineup, “Porlolo has been an incredibly powerful force in my own life, providing equal amounts of sanity and absurdity, keeping it weird when life gets tedious, heavy and too adult.”
Billy Bragg, Lucy Dacus, Will Butler of Arcade Fire, and more artists have been tapped by the Working Families Party for a new conversation and performance series that begins tomorrow, International Workers Day (May 1), to raise awareness for the Protecting the Right to Organize Act (PRO Act). A number of other artists including Toshi Reagon, Aloe Blacc, Thursday, Kyp Malone, and Anti-Flag will perform labor songs as part of the ongoing Jammin’ for Jobs series.
The events will take place on the Working Families Party’s Instagram page. The programming begins tomorrow at 3 p.m. Eastern with a conversation between Billy Bragg and Sara Steffens, the Secretary-Treasurer of the Communications Workers of America. The conversation will be followed by a talk between Boston-based musician Anjimile and Darlene Lombos of the Greater Boston Labor Council. The full schedule for the talks and performances will be shared via Instagram in coming days.

Tarot readings are taking the internet by storm with social media influencers, apps, and tons of beautifully decorated decks. However, more than just a trend of the current times, the craft of Tarot has been around for centuries and spanning across cultures worldwide. Our Local Music Director, Alisha Sweeney, has been practicing Tarot for some time and now we re bringing our latest interview and entertainment feature to Indie 102.3 s socials titled Talk, Tarot, Tunes .
Talk, Tarot, Tunes is like our Sessions: At Home series, virtual interviews and performances with popular and up-and-coming indie artists. The idea was born out of a bonus interview with Man Man on Instagram Live back in the summer of 2020. Host Alisha Sweeney wanted to find a deeper connection beyond the music with our artists and her first instinct was to connect through tarot.
After almost a gap of two decades, Sunidhi Chauhan is coming up with her independent track – ‘Ye Ranjishein’ in collaboration with 9X Media s Indie Music platform, SpotlampE.
