Hours long standoff in South Lake Tahoe ends with arrest

Scott Neven booking photo from SLTPD 8:45PM Update: After an hours-long standoff in the 3700 block of Aspen Avenue in South Lake Tahoe, a man has been arrested. According to police, the suspect, 54-year-old Scott Neven, drove to the lake from Santa Cruz County after a search warrant was executed on his home by the Santa Cruz County Sheriffs Office. Inside, law enforcement found 43 weapons, high capacity magazines, and tactical vests with Washoe County Sheriff’s Office patches on them. Nevin was out on bail on 50 felony charges. He also had numerous warrants for his arrest for charges including domestic violence, felony threats, intimidating witnesses and had been known to threaten to kill law enforcement, police said.

Hunt for brothers, three and four, as cops search home

A hunt is underway for two brothers who went missing after playing in their backyard as their adoptive parents are quizzed and their home in California is searched. California City missing boys: FBI investigates at home of missing Orrin and Orson West as search continues

CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. (KABC) The search for two missing Central California boys - ages 3 and 4 - has led police to investigate their home. The brothers, 4-year-old Orrin West and 3-year-old Orson West, were last seen Monday playing outside in their backyard in the 10700 block of Aspen Avenue in California City, according to their adoptive parents. New video shows an FBI forensic team searching outside the home. FBI agents in hazmat suits were seen on the property. Police haven t released any details about the investigation. Orrin and his younger brother Orson are both approximately 3 feet tall, weigh 30 to 40 pounds and were last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
