Port Arthur Rotary announces community donations
Nine community organizations received a donation earlier this week.

THUNDER BAY The Port Arthur Rotary Club, during their weekly ZOOM meeting, provided a total of $9,600.00 to nine community organizations. According to Allocations Chair Kevin Holloway, “we try to provide seed money to get worthy projects up and running favouring projects for youth, elderly, health-care, the environment and community projects that benefit a large number of residents of Thunder Bay.”
Port Arthur Rotary Community Services Chair Steve McAuley added “the monetary awards for these nine worthy community recipients are derived from fundraising projects undertaken by the Port Arthur Rotary Club which include Rotary Radio Day.”

Asthma can be harder to control during winter months for a few reasons. Ruth Morrow, a respiratory nurse specialist from the Asthma Society of Ireland says people often find their unwelcome asthma symptoms flaring up at this time of year, because there are more triggers lurking around.
The deferred 2020 Cara Bundoran Run will be held as a virtual event across a two week window commencing Friday March 5th.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was impossible to run the event in March last year as scheduled and having examined all possibilities to try and reschedule it for a few different dates it has not been possible.
All those registered from 2020 will be automatically transferred and eligible to take part in the virtual event which will see them running their 10 mile or 10 km within a two week period.
All participants can do their run (in one go) at any point from Friday March 5th to Sunday March 21st at a location that is convenient to them whilst adhering to government guidelines and any restrictions that may be in place at the time. They will then upload their time to the myrunresults.com website where all the times will be tabulated.
It s believed around 5.5 million people in the UK and Ireland are currently receiving treatment for asthma, and the charity Asthma UK says it s not uncommon for asthma symptoms to get worse over the festive season.
