Nick Kyrgios faces a mouth-watering first-ever ATP Tour encounter against compatriot Bernard Tomic in Round 2 of the Murray River Open, which begins at Melbourne Park on Monday.
While sharing a large amount of the spotlight in Australian tennis over recent years, the two have never played an official match on the professional tour before and the clash promises to be one of the marquee matches in the early rounds of the ATP event.
Tomic will have to overcome Melburnian Marc Polmans in the opening round if he is to play Kyrgios, who’s been drawn against world number 208 Alexandre Muller in the first round.
