Free groceries for temple priests in rural areas Free groceries for temple priests in rural areas ByY Maheswara ReddyY Maheswara Reddy / Updated: May 21, 2021, 06:00 IST Minister for Hindu Religious Organisations, Endowments and Backward Classes Welfare Kota Srinivasa Poojari on Thursday issued a circular directing the Commissioner for Endowments to make arrangements to provide groceries to the priests working in temples in rural areas. “Arrangements should be made to utilise groceries stocked at A category temples to distribute among the priests in rural areas. If there is shortage for groceries at A category temples, arrangements have to be made to procure groceries worth Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 for each of the priests in rural areas,” the minister said in the circular.
