AIX Announces Change In Leadership Date

The Board of Directors of the Astana International Exchange’s (‘AIX’, ‘the Exchange’) is pleased to announce changes in the leadership structure of the AIX effective May 23
rd, subject to shareholder and regulatory approval.
The Board is pleased to announce that, Renat Bekturov, currently CFO of AIX, is to be appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Astana International Exchange from 24 May, 2021.

Renat has been with the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) since its creation in 2016 and has worked as CFO of the AIX since 2017. Renat Bekturov has been integral to the development of AIX and during this time has demonstrated his leadership capabilities. We look forward to working with Renat Bekturov on the next phase of development of the Exchange.”

European law firm Fieldfisher has advised Kazakhstan mobile telecoms operator Kcell on the planned termination of its global depositary receipts (GDR) programme and the corresponding delisting of its GDRs from the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Astana International Exchange (AIX).
The proposal was approved at Kcell s general shareholders meeting on 9 April. The GDR programme will be officially terminated on 12 June 2021 and the last day of dealings in its GDRs on the LSE and AIX is set for 14 June 2021.
GDRs are tradeable certificates that represent shares in a foreign company, which make it easier for international investors to trade the underlying shares.
