Crisis Cleanup Hotline to be open through Friday Austin American-Statesman Cleanup hotline extended The Crisis Cleanup Hotline for residents who need help cleaning up after the winter storm has been extended and will remain open through Friday. More than 700 calls for help have been received to date through this hotline from Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties. Austin Disaster Relief Network, Samaritan’s Purse, CTX Voluntary Organizations Associated in Disaster and the volunteer management platform Crisis Cleanup are collaborating with the five counties to include the cities of Austin and Round Rockt. Homeowners who have few resources and abilities can request assistance in the removal of fallen trees, limbs, interiors of home water damage, plumbing repairs and various storm related damages.

Photo by Montinique Monroe/Getty Images As it contemplates a multibillion-dollar expansion of its chipmaking operation in Northeast Austin, Samsung Austin Semiconductor is donating $750,000 for winter storm relief and recovery efforts in the Austin area. “The winter storm left many hungry, wet, financially insecure, and displaced,” Austin Mayor Steve Adler says in a March 4 news release. “Samsung Austin Semiconductor has been a great neighbor for 25 years, and this is another way they are making a positive impact [in] our community.”
