ASHLEY â The Ashley High School biennial alumni reunion will be held on Saturday, June 12, subject to recommendations of the Steuben County Board of Health.
The reunion will take place at the Hudson United Brethren Church Hall, with a social hour beginning at 4 p.m. and dinner to be served at 5:30 p.m.
Anyone who attended Ashley High School for any amount of time is welcome to attend. Anyone who did not receive a registration form or who has questions should contact Bonnie Deetz at 349-8881 or Steve Grill at 668-9945.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The family of a girl diagnosed with autism is suing the Charleston County School District for failing to accompany their daughter to a bathroom, where she was then photographed by other students.
The lawsuit states that the family of an 8th grader with autism had organized an Individual Education Plan with the CCSD.
According to the family, that plan specified that their daughter required adult supervision when she went to the restroom.

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Officials with the Department of Health and Environmental Control have confirmed a case of tuberculosis at a middle school in the Charleston County School District.
The affected person is someone associated with C.E. Williams Middle School (South campus). That person is in isolation and remains so until DHEC has established they can no longer spread TB, according to state health officials.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Antonio Burns still vividly remembers the day at Kure Beach that took the life of beloved Ashley High School teacher and active church member, Jessica Embry.
Both Burns and Embry jumped in the water to save two girls caught in a rip current. Embry tragically paid the ultimate price and passed away at the scene. Burns is paying a different price after a four-day stay at the hospital: medical expenses.
Winston-Salem resident Antonio Burns helped rescue two girls at Kure Beach
Antonio Burns, a Winston-Salem photographer and videographer, was getting out of the water April 18 at Kure Beach when a nearby friend told him that he saw two girls struggling offshore.
âStop playing,â Burns said to his friend, but then he looked and also realized that the girls were in distress.
âI felt that they didnât know how to swim,â Burns said. âEverything happened so fast.â
Burns, 27, then joined four other beach-goers who entered the water to try to reach the girls who appeared to be about 30 yards offshore. Burns, a graduate of the Quality Education Academy in Winston-Salem, described himself as an average swimmer.
