Indicators such as fiscal deficits, rising debt and remittances which are estimated to fall by 20% because of COVID-19, are putting pressure on struggling African countries.

GIS, NIS meet to discuss gender issues ahead of Women’s Day celebration
Ahead of the March 8, 2021 Women’s Day celebration, the Gender Unit of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) is hosting its counterpart, the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to deliberate on the progress made in developing gender strategies for their respective countries.
This year’s celebration, which is hinged on the theme: “Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a Covid-19 World,” is to accelerate the action towards gender parity.
Therefore, the purpose of bringing the two countries together is to provide a unique opportunity for them to share their experiences on the process, scope and focus of their respective gender strategies.
IRDAI advises companies to enable Digilocker for storage of policy papers
India’s insurance regulator has
advised all insurers to enable their technology systems “to interact with” DigiLocker so that customers can store their policy documents. This will help reduce costs, eliminate customer complaints about non-delivery of policy copy, reduce disputes and fraud, and improve customer contractibility, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India said in a circular on February 9.
