PORTUGAL has had a welcome tourism boost after it was announced that the country had made it onto the travel green list last week.
And despite a surge in bookings for the destination, the country is nowhere near fully booked, with plenty of deals still on villas and all-inclusive hotels.

Pre-trial detention for a man suspected of rape and theft in Alvor
The court in Portimão has decreed preventive detention for a 36-year-old man suspected of raping a woman and trying to violate two others in Montes de Alvor, in Portimão last week.
In a statement, the Public Ministry (MP) stated that the attempted rape occurred during the first days of the month, at the beginning of the night, in Montes de Alvor, involving two women, 23 and 22 years old, who managed to escape.
The women were inside a van, whose side door was open, when the suspect forced them to hand him money and a cell phone, then tried to force them to have sex with him.
