Art and Design graduates showcase work in Fire Station Creative exhibit

ART and design graduates who were given free studio space at the Fire Station Creative (FSC) for a year are showcasing their work in a new exhibition. The arts venue received financial support from Creative Scotland to help participants in the ‘New Graduate Incubator Project’ and they are now ready to share the fruits of their labour with the public. Visitors to the gallery can expect to see photography, prop designs, fashion designs, textile designs and paintings. One of the graduates, Naomi Smith, who studied Film at the University of Exeter, said: “I am exhibiting sci-fi props that aim to tell an artistic story in an immersive and multi-sensory way.

ALL eyes will be on a Dunfermline venue’s social media as a new series launches online today (Thursday). Thanks to a grant from Creative Scotland, Fire Station Creative (FSC) have been able to offer free studio space to six new graduates since September under the ‘New Graduate Incubator Project’. “A few of our studios became available last year so we decided to offer them to people who could use a leg-up with a career in the creative industries,” said Ian Moir, FSC director. “We designed a programme of events and exhibition opportunities, then applied for a grant which has enabled us to fulfill our objectives as an arts charity.
