CALGARY A Calgary-based drug maker successfully posted promising phase one trial results for its own COVID-19 vaccine, but the company’s future endeavours in Canada remain a question mark without federal funding for manufacturing. Providence Therapeutics released results Wednesday from 60 participants aged 18 to 64 that participated in the trial, which show “strong virus neutralization capability,” with no serious side effects reported. Participants received either a placebo or the PTX-COVID19-B vaccine made by Providence in one of three dose sizes. After 28 days, participants given any of the vaccine sizes showed COVID-19 antibodies, while all doses showed 100 per cent COVID-19 “blocking activity” after 42 days.

Goal: Protect Crown Land in Westlock County, and keep it from being abused and destroyed by people.
In Westlock county, land owned by the federal or provincial governments, known as Crown land, is being abused by people who have no business being there. It is littered with garbage, debris, and other human waste that has been carelessly dumped. Even old appliances have been carelessly thrown there and left. Another major issue is the reckless campfires that are regularly used on the Crown land. This is especially concerning as the province enters a particularly dry year, and many people still burn fires with no regard for the danger.

EDMONTON – Alberta Premier Jason Kenney’s government is suspending the spring sitting of the legislature due to soaring, record-breaking caseloads of COVID-19.
Opposition NDP Leader Rachel Notley said Kenney was abandoning his post, deserting Albertans, and allowing others to work at personal risk on the front lines while leaving unfinished critical legislative work, such as paid sick leave.
