Anyone driving past Alton High School this morning may have noticed fire and police vehicles on the campus. There was apparently what the administration describes as a “small disruption,” and all is now back to normal.
The school’s automatic dialer system sent out a message telling parents of the incident, saying all students are safe and most students may have not even been aware of the incident.

ALTON Friends of the 60’s/Alton Black Alumni Association has awarded Trinity Ingram its Leo C. Cox Scholarship.
Ingram, a senior at Alton High School, will be attending the University of Tennessee where she plans to major in Architecture or Interior Design. During her last two years of high school, she raised her grade point average and maintained straight A’s. She has received several awards in academics and talent, including the Art-Fahrner’s Remarkable Redbird of the Month award.
She has been a member of the Student Council, German Club, American Sign Language Club and the Cooperative Work Training Program. She said her greatest aspiration is to help inspire and educate other African American girls who may not have self-assurance to move forward.

Five seek three trustee seats in Godfrey

GODFREY On April 6, voters in Godfrey will choose between five candidates for three trustee positions.
Incumbents Jeff Weber and Nathan Schrumpf are challenged by Sarah Woodman, Rick Lauschke and James Ward.
Weber, who grew up in Godfrey, is a graduate from Alton High School and the University of Missouri. He also served was an Army officer. He previously has been president of the Alton School Board, chairman of the Godfrey Planning and Zoning Commission and chairman of the Godfrey Sewer Department.
Weber said he has the skills to maintain the status of trustee for Godfrey.
