Batman’s future butler may have just found a new home – and it appears to be an upgrade.
Pennyworth, the prequel series that focuses on DC Comics character Alfred Pennyworth’s pre-butler adventures as a British SAS agent, might shift from its current home on Epix to greener pastures at HBO Max. Negotiations are taking place right now, and you can read the details below.
Deadline reports that negotiations are ongoing between Epix and Warner Bros. TV for a third season of
Pennyworth to end up on HBO Max, and part of the deal would involve the first two seasons being able to move over to that platform as well so audiences can catch up.
The first season of
Pennyworth was a big move for Epix that paid off well as it did solid numbers for the service and had a second season green-lit pretty quickly overall. Personally, it was one of the best series of the last few years for me, especially with a fantastic opening sequence. That said, I didn’t like Epix enough to pay for it so I’ve been waiting for digital-purchase options for it as I did not need another streaming service.
Now, Deadline is reporting that negotiations are going on between Warner Bros. TV and Epix to bring the two seasons to HBO Max, which makes a lot of sense. The property was sold to Epix originally before the HBO Max service was coming together and Warner Bros.
