ROANOKE, Va. – The show must go on at Mill Mountain Theatre, but with some coronavirus pandemic adjustments.
After canceling this year’s performances in September due to the coronavirus pandemic, Mill Mountain Theatre will return in the new year with some new shows.
They will have three MainStage productions on the Trinkle MainStage, three productions for Young Audiences, one Fringe production and one musical concert.
While plexiglass dividers were installed in the dressing rooms, casts will be smaller in 2021 with only about 10 to 12 performers.
Mill Mountain Theatre in Roanoke has announced a 2021 performance season that hopes for the best and anticipates the worst when it comes to pandemic restrictions.
The main summer production, jukebox musical âMillion Dollar Quartet,â isnât scheduled to start until the end of July, and the holiday fare is an encore of one of the theaterâs most popular offerings, âA Christmas Story,â last staged in 2017. With these choices, MMT is trying to deliver the goods while playing it safe money-wise and health-wise, said Producing Artistic Director Ginger Poole.
âI do think weâre going to be OK, but to be OK, weâve really got to play our cards well in 2021, because I am anticipating it being a harder year,â Poole said.
