Former three-term congressman Doug Collins is still generating plenty of political chatter, despite no longer holding public office.
Even as he enters what he calls a “transition period” from the political arena, he knows that people are watching for his next move.
“There has been a lot of talk on what I’m planning to do (in 2022),” Collins said in a Feb. 18 interview with the Times. “I’m enjoying the stage I’m in right now, coming down from a busy role as a representative and just enjoying life with my wife here in Gainesville.
Following his stint as Ninth District Congressman, Doug Collins has taken on a new role at a Clarkesville law firm.
Collins announced Thursday he will join Oliver & Weidner, LLC in Clarkesville. He will specialize in civil and criminal litigation.
“I’m thrilled to announce that I have joined Oliver & Weidner,” said Collins. “Bill and Jim have long been friends and are well respected for the service they provide to families and businesses here in our community. North Georgia will always be home for me, which is why I’m especially thankful for the opportunity to return to practicing law right here in Clarkesville.”
