Joshua Buatsi vs Daniel Blenda Dos Santos: Fight Preview

Oliver McManus Manchester’s AO Arena plays host to a triple-header of European title fights on Saturday night with Joshua Buatsi nominally headlining in a

Bradley The Sting Rea Discusses His Future Plans

Posted on 05/11/2021 By: Oliver McManus Brad Rea has had to be patient for his big opportunity. After building up on the small hall scene of Manchester, Rea first featured on a Matchroom Boxing undercard in March 2020 and moved to 9-0 in breezy fashion. That show would prove to be one of the last in the United Kingdom before the pandemic intervened and it was 54 weeks later until Rea would have his tenth professional contest. The 23-year-old was drafted into the Matchroom ‘bubble’ for a bout with, fellow undefeated prospect, Lee Cutler (7-0). Having waited well over a year to be back in action, Rea wasted no time in racking up the win with the fight lasting all of two minutes.

Billy Joe Saunders Did All He Could | BoxingInsider com

Posted on 05/11/2021 By: Oliver McManus Billy Joe Saunders has channeled his inner Arnold Schwarzenegger in declaring “I’ll be back” after a dispiriting defeat at the hands of Canelo Alvarez this past weekend at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The 31-year-old suffered a broken eye socket and broken cheekbones during the contest but has subsequently undergone an operation. Mark Tibbs had pulled out his charge at the end of the eighth contest with Saunders’ face looking increasingly disfigured at the hands of the merciless Mexican. Alvarez had eased his way into the contest after some opening rounds in which Saunders was seeing success. In truth, you get the feeling that whilst the Brit did take a handful of rounds, it was mainly due to the patience of Canelo Alvarez who knew he could turn the tide of the contest in an instant.

Dereck Chisora vs Joseph Parker Official Prediction

Posted on 05/01/2021 By: Oliver McManus Saturday night sees Derek Chisora and Joseph Parker collide in a heavyweight clash topping a slightly questionable UK pay-per-view card. The twelve rounder, with no title attached, is the result of a heavyweight waiting game involving Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury with additional cameos from Joe Joyce, Oleksandr Usyk and Dillian Whyte. As a result, we’re left with a disparate array of former champions, old-timers and prospects looking to stay in the mix but with very few viable options to keep them busy. Hence we have Chisora vs Parker. The fight itself doesn’t exactly set pulses racing, certainly not at £19.95, but it certainly intrigues. Not least because two or three years ago you’d have struggled to make a credible case for Chisora beating Joseph Parker yet, just days away from the fight, it’s hard to confidently assert who will win.
