A THUG shoved his pregnant partner against a wall – and harassed her by calling more than 150 times in a few days. Recorder Leslie Cuthbert granted Gary Cushen’s wish to have “time to reflect” on the “monster” he has become by throwing him behind bars for a year. The 35-year-old was told by his partner she no longer wanted him in the house due to how much stress his behaviour was causing him. Cushen had come back to her home in Westcliff on October 3 last year after a night out, when she told him he wasn’t welcome there. Following a row over him taking keys to the home, he pushed his back against her forcing her into the wall, causing pain and concern for her unborn child.

Harry Thompson has been jailed for 20 months

A deeply troubled Ipswich man who threatened to stab and shoot police officers in a series of malicious 999 calls has been jailed for 20 months.
Harry Thompson appeared at Ipswich Crown Court to be sentenced for making grossly offensive or menacing calls to the emergency services.
The 48-year-old was also jailed for breaching a restraining order by sending a threatening message to a woman on Facebook.
Thompson, of Lackford Place, had been remanded in custody at Norwich prison since admitting the offences at an earlier hearing before magistrates on November 9.
