Blues Visit Northampton Looking to Revive Faltering Play-Off Push Monday, 19th Apr 2021 15:11 Town visit Northampton s Sixfields for the first time on Tuesday evening with only a victory good enough as they look to get their faltering play-off push back on track. Swindon Town beat Northampton Town 2-1 after Brett Pitman goal

BRETT Pitman’s sixth goal of the season saw Swindon Town come from behind to beat Northampton Town 2-1 at the County Ground on Saturday. The Swindon striker’s contribution extended a run of games where the Wiltshire side are yet to lose when the 33-year-old has found the net – four wins, two draws. Meanwhile, defeat for Northampton was the Cobblers’ 11th game without a win. Success for John Sheridan s men also took Swindon up to 18th in League One, ahead of a tricky trio of fixtures. Northampton took the lead in the first half when Ryan Watson struck a powerful effort through the hands of debutante goalkeeper Archie Matthews – thrust into the starting XI following a late injury to Jojo Wollacott.

Covid patients transferred across country for ICU beds

Covid patients transferred across country for ICU beds Updated / Saturday, 23 Jan 2021 19:26 Covid-19 patients have been transferred hundreds of kilometres to get to an ICU bed. The Clinical Director of the Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance Service said that 40 critically ill patients have been moved between hospitals this month so far, including 17 this week. Dr David Menzies said the majority of the patients have Covid-19 and were being transferred because there wasn t an intensive care bed available in the hospital they were in.  The service is already twice as busy as it was last January, and as hospitals and ICU operate in surge capacity, its role has become even more vital.
