Life of Agony chose their band name for a reason. For decades, the band and their music has been the vessel through which the principle members Mina Caputo, Alan Robert and Joey Z channeled real life pain, trauma, depression and suicidal ideation into something that can now only be recognized as beautiful and a promise to others bearing a similar burden that true happiness is something that can be achieved.
For singer Mina Caputo especially, who came out as transgender in 2011 and is now living life as her true and honest self, happiness was not an emotion that was so easy to tap into.

A time capsule containing Fellows’ messages to the future has been placed under the copper roof of the Shine Dome
The capsule contains a letter from the President of the Academy, Professor John Shine, reflections of Fellows and staff of the Academy, newspaper front pages documenting the tumultuous events of 2020 and other historical documents, including the complete genome of SARS-CoV-2.
The Shine Dome was heavily damaged in January 2020 in a massive hailstorm. Restoration began in November 2020, with a new copper layer being laid over a timber frame, with waterproofing materials between. The original copper remains beneath these layers.

On the first night of their Atlantic crossing, a ‘dark shadow’ passed 100m away from Christian and Manuela Lücking’s boat. It was unlit and not moving. Unnerved, Christian Lücking called the Coastguard. Two hours later, the Coastguard called back asking them to return and check the vessel.
When they returned, they found a wooden fishing boat, around 10m long, with a 40hp Yamaha outboard on the back. It was deserted and empty apart from a solitary lifejacket hooked on the bow. The Coastguard concluded that it had been packed with migrants fleeing through Mauritania, and abandoned after they swam ashore to one of the Canary Islands.
