Here Comes the Devil is a horror movie. The problem is that writer-director Adrián García Bogliano can t decide what kind of horror movie he wants it to be.
Is it a slasher flick? A creepy sexual morality tale? A revenge thriller? A 1970s throwback about Satanic possession and the breakdown of the family dynamic? Sure, let s just chuck all of that in there, add some blood spurtings and bare breasts, then see what sticks.
Actually, intermingling all those subcategories of the horror genre could have made for a rich and fascinating update on the spirits-invade-the-kids story that s been done so many times before, in films ranging from The Exorcist to Insidious. Richard Sales loves boating at Highline Lake.
âThe facility is unbelievably valuable for the Western Slope, for Colorado,â he told Colorado Parks and Wildlife personnel in a Zoom meeting this week.
But as someone who likes to sail, he avoids sailing there on the weekend due to the number of powerboats throwing up waves that can make sailing tricky.
âI really would support a day that I knew I could go out and really enjoyâ sailing, he said.
A CPW proposal the agency is calling âWakeless Wednesdaysâ would give Sales and other boaters, such as kayakers, paddleboarders and anglers, just such a day. The agency is considering setting aside one day a week â Wednesdays â when boats wouldnât be allowed to create a wake, for the benefit of recreationists seeking opportunities to enjoy calmer waters at Highline.
