The Foreign Office is expected to lift the ban on holidays abroad for people in England from May 17 as part of the next easing of coronavirus restrictions. A risk-based traffic light system will be introduced, with different rules for returning travellers depending on which list their destination is on.
People arriving from a green location will not have to quarantine, while those returning from somewhere on the amber list must self-isolate for at least five days.

LONDON: A return to unrestricted trading for hospitality from June 21 is “critical” and will mean firms can “come off life support”, an industry chief has said.
Social distancing rules will reportedly be ditched next month to allow pubs, restaurants and theatres to open to full capacity for the first time in more than a year.
One-way systems, screens and mask-wearing while moving around might remain for hospitality venues but customer numbers will no longer be limited, The Times said.
Audiences in theatres and cinemas will have to wear face coverings during performances, while there will be strict guidance on ventilation and staggered entry, the newspaper reported. On Sunday, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said “some safeguards” may stay in place when legal restrictions end, such as continued use of masks and physical distancing.

British holidaymakers may have the option to jet off abroad - but the list of available destinations may be smaller than many had hoped.
The system will list countries as green, amber or red, with anyone returning from a green country not required to enter any form of quarantine.
Politicians have indicated in recent days they believe the ban on international travel can end in two weeks on the planned date of May 17 in England.
Reports suggest the list could include about a dozen countries, although some newspapers say it could be fewer than 10.
