Bowlers really do win matches. But sometimes, they do so with the bat. Even a genuine bunny can play a vital role in extending a lead, reducing a deficit, turning a poor score into a respectable one, or forcing a draw.
Each run scored by a tail-ender has the same worth as one scored by a recognised batsman, and sometimes more when it entertains spectators, frustrates opponents or lifts team-mates’ spirits.
Melbourne Knights president Pave Jusup invited the President of SMFC Nick Maikousis, Chairman Bill Papastergiadis, Head of Football Andrew Mesourouni and also Tony Margaritis to an event at Knights Stadium to mark the great history between these two clubs. The function was held immediately before the scheduled match between the two teams
As Jusup said “ you cannot manufacture a rivalry. It comes through history and passionate supporters”
Jusup also noted that clubs like SMFC and Knights should be playing top flight football and that it was time to make this happen

The match witnessed many milestones.This five-day Test was scheduled to be played over a seven day span from 11th-17th October. This was because for the first time in the history of Tests two official rest days had been scheduled in a Test match. The original rest day was on 14th October, after the customary three days of play, but an additional rest day was added on 16th October, since it was a national holiday marking the death anniversary of Pakistan’s first prime minister Nawabzada Liaquat Ali Khan.

And when Barbadians celebrated National Heroes Day on Wednesday, it provided yet another opportunity to highlight some of the wonderful achievements of the island’s only living national hero, who is now aged 84.
Regarded as the world’s greatest ever all-rounder, Sir Garfield, a former Barbados and West Indies captain, played 93 Test matches. A left-hander, he scored 8032 runs including 26 centuries and 30 half-centuries at an average of 57.78, and took 235 wickets at 34.03 runs apiece, bowling either left-arm fast-medium, or two styles of spin – orthodox and wrist. He also held 109 catches.
