The Melbourne couple who travelled from Victoria to Queensland before testing positive for coronavirus may have been permitted to travel out of the state as close to 50 others are fined for “blatant” lockdown restriction breaches.
Despite the easing of Victoria’s lockdown rules, the current cases show it is still too early for a complete relaxation of restrictions, says Deputy Chief Health Officer Professor Allen Cheng.
“These new cases are really the strongest reminder that we are, by no means, out of the woods yet,” Professor Cheng said.
