Genius Meets Grit The pandemic didn’t slow the pace of significant achievements by UMass Amherst undergraduates in research, scholarship, and creative activity.
This year, persistent UMass Amherst undergraduates adapted to COVID-19 restrictions as they engaged in substantial research, exercised their creativity, and elevated campus and the community. Spring Valley Board of Trustees member accuses mayor of pattern of inappropriate behavior

A member of the Spring Valley Board of Trustees is publicly calling on Mayor Alan Simon to resign.
A recording from a village meeting Thursday morning captured the incident that sparked Trustee Eudson Tyson Francois outrage. Francois says he sat down next to the mayor, who demanded that he move or leave the meeting.
Francois says he did switch seats, but Simon continued to curse and also called the police.
The trustee, who is also running for mayor, eventually left the meeting because he says he was feeling harassed. He says this is a pattern of inappropriate behavior that cannot continue.
