LIMA The name of a health order announced Monday seems to be causing some confusion among a pandemic-weary population, an Allen County Public Health official said Wednesday.
“It’s the ‘order that rescinds various orders,’” said Tami Gough, prevention and health promotion services director for Allen County Public Health. “Unfortunately, I think some people have heard that word ‘rescind,’ and have thought that means orders are done.”

LIMA After a year of disruption and loss, high schools are trying to revive prom, graduation and other milestone ceremonies their students look forward to as an unusual school year comes to an end.
The Ohio Department of Health last week revised its mass gatherings order, allowing schools to host prom so long as schools comply with other health orders, like the state’s mask mandate and social distancing protocols.
While many schools are planning to host prom in-person, districts are still waiting for more detailed guidance from the Ohio Department of Health as they plan for these events and graduation ceremonies.

• More than 1.8 million Ohioans have received at least one COVID-19 shot since December, accounting for 16% of the state’s population.
• Putnam County has the second-highest vaccination rate in Ohio at 18.4%, behind Henry County.
• Ohio administered 55,804 shots on Feb. 26, the highest single-day total since the vaccination effort began in December.
• Allen County vaccinated 61% of seniors age 80 and older since December, the highest percentage among any age group in the county.
• In Allen County, 18% of women women have been vaccinated, compared to 12% of men.
