How gunmen killed seven policemen in Rivers

Facts have emerged on how the unidentified gunmen prevailed over the curfew imposed on Rivers State and killed about seven men and officers of the Nigeria Police in the state.
The unidentified gunmen had at about 10 pm, Friday, invaded the state under heavy gunfire and killed over seven policemen at different points in two local government areas of the state.
The hoodlums that invaded the state attacked two police stations, Rumuji Police Divisional Headquarters in Emohua Local Government Area and Elimgbu Police Station in Obio/Akpor LGA.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said no level of intimidation or attacks will make the State succumb to the secessionist agenda of those “bent on plunging Nigeria into another unwarranted crisis”. At least seven police officers have been killed following an attack by gunmen on two police stations in Obio-Akpor and Emuoha Local Government Areas of Rivers State on Friday night.
PUNCH reports that three policemen were feared killed, at Elimgbu police station while two were feared killed at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Rumuji. A security vehicle was also reportedly burnt.
Similarly, the checkpoint of a security outfit called C-4-i along the East-West Road was also attacked, and two security operatives were killed in the process.
The attacks which took place about 10 pm on Friday threw the communities into panic, even as an inter-state and intra-state curfew was imposed by Governor Nyesom Wike in the wake of security threats.
