Six Flags New England reopens with rides
Updated May 14, 2021;
More than a year following the temporary closure of its rides, Six Flags New England is now open.
The theme park reopened on Friday for members and season pass holders and will open to the general public on Saturday for the general public.
The park announced opening day last month, shortly after Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker announced expanded capacity limits for amusement parks.
“We are beyond thrilled that we can reopen our theme park with a full complement of our more than 100 rides, attractions, and unique experiences,” Six Flags New England Park President Pete Carmichael said in a statement. “Now more than ever families need an escape that is safe, accessible, and fun. The thrill is calling.”

Six Flags New England, the region’s largest theme park, opens at half capacity this weekend, as Massachusetts loosens pandemic restrictions.
The Agawam amusement park is requiring reservations to ensure it stays under the 50% capacity limit set by the state and will leave empty seats between parties on rides.
But for thrill seekers who really want their own space, there s the new Supergirl Sky Flyer. Every rider has their own chair attached to a whirling ring, flipping them upside down at 25 miles per hour.
