Balwyn Community Centre is now open
We are pleased to announce the official reopening of the new Balwyn Community Centre following the completion of construction.
We’ve developed the site to meet our community’s needs. Features include:
Six additional functional spaces for community programs and groups, including a demonstration kitchen, two new art rooms and a craft workshop
Balwyn Maternal and Child Health relocated and expanded to a two-nurse unit
An upgraded 20-place occasional child care centre
13,750 indigenous plants added throughout the parklands and Kergunyah Wetlands
An upgraded function centre
A new recreation zone, including exercise equipment, a learn-to-cycle path and table tennis tables

Inaugural Goulburn Valley Country Festival Launches This October

Country music fans in the Goulburn Valley can gear up for a big weekend at the end of October with the launch of the Goulburn Valley Country Festival. The event is the sister festival to the sold-out Gippsland Country Music Festival and features a coveted line-up of some of the biggest names on the Australian country music scene. Headlined by Lee Kernaghan, with special guests Brad Cox, Casey Barnes, Felicity Urquhart, Andrew Swift, The Davidson Brothers and some of the most exciting up-and-coming acts on the live scene today. The event will also feature a whip-cracking demonstration and line-dancing, as well as food trucks, a smokehouse barbecue, rides, market stalls and on-site bars.
Toyota has launched the all-new Mirai in an extended demonstration program that will see 20 examples leased by pioneering organisations and businesses.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said Toyota was a firm believer that hydrogen fuel cell technology could play a central role in reducing emissions and it was committed to helping drive towards a cleaner society.
“When we launched the Prius hybrid 20 years ago, we started a drive towards helping reduce emissions from our vehicles through a process of electrification,” Mr Hanley said.
“Today, we offer hybrid powertrains in seven vehicle lines and we have sold more than 200,000 Toyota hybrids over the past two decades.
