The Montgomery police have made an arrest in the Valentine’s Day shooting death of Arthur Harris, 41, of Montgomery. The shooting happened on Sunday, February 14, around 2:45 am.
Police responded to a call of a person shot in the 1100 block of Karen Road. At the scene, they located Harris suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He later died at a local hospital from his injuries.

Montgomery police charged Jamahl Jackson, 31, of Montgomery with Murder for the shooting in the 1100 block of Karen Road. Police took him into custody on Tuesday, February 16.
The circumstances surrounding the death of Harris are unknown however, Jackson was identified as the suspect. There is no additional information available for release in connection to this continuing investigation. This was the 10th Murder of 2021.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Montgomery police have charged a suspect in the death of 41-year-old Arthur Harris.
According to MPD Cpl. Ernestine McGriff, Jamahl Jackson, 31, is charged with murder.

were called to the 1100 block of Karen Road Sunday around 2:45 a.m. after a shooting was reported. When they arrived, officers found Harris, who had life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital but later died.

Montgomery police on Tuesday announced formal charges against Jamahl Marqui Jackson, 31, and Kevin Donnell Evans, 40.
Evans is charged with capital murder in the Jan. 26 slaying of 29-year-old Katherine Simmons. Police and fire medics responded at 2:19 p.m. that Tuesday to the 2400 block of Meadowridge Lane on a report of someone shot.
Simmons later died at a hospital.
Evans was taken into custody Feb. 13. He remains held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
Jackson is charged with murder in the Feb. 14 killing of 41-year-old Arthur Harris. Harris was shot at 2:45 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Karen Road and later died at the hospital.

Montgomery police are investigating the city’s 10th murder of the year following the shooting death of 41-year-old Arthur Harris of Montgomery.
Police say this morning at about 2:45 a.m., they and fire medics were called to the 1100 block of Karen Road after getting a report of a person shot. That’s where they found Harris with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Harris was taken to a hospital for treatment where he later died.
