Forest Hill Road, from Richmond Hill Road to Executive Way, will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday for spring cleaning. The city Parks Department, in collaboration with Borough President James Oddo and Councilman Steven Matteo (R-Mid-Island), announced the cleanup schedule in late March. “I have been collaborating on these Spring Cleaning projects with the Borough President and Parks for years now, and they have been very successful,” Matteo said.

A little history: Travis was a battle site during the Battle of Staten Island, and ferries ran from Travis in 1757 and were part of Philadelphia and New York City’s main route via the Port Richmond Ferry for decades.
