The police in the federal capital territory (FCT) have arrested Ahmad Isah, a human rights activist and broadcast journalist, for slapping a woman who allegedly assaulted a child.
SaharaReporters obtained some of the screenshots and voice notes of the death threats as shared by Nkanga who reported in the documentary how Isah allegedly assaulted a criminal suspect, who allegedly set fire to the hair of a six-year-old girl.

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has dismissed as untrue, the alleged assassination plan Ahmed Isa, the Berekete Family show anchor, said was planned against him by the outfit and its reporter, Peter Nkanga, including some unnamed persons.
It also said it stood by Mr Nkanga, ‘and journalism’ over a documentary it recently released, which showed the popular Nigerian broadcaster hitting an interviewee during his show.
The BBC had apparently been given access to the show so as to give readers an insight into the activities of Mr Isah, popularly known as ‘Ordinary President’, who is known for his human rights advocacy for the less privileged members of the Nigerian society.

As a regulatory body for the broadcast media, the NBC cannot overlook this.
“Broadcasting should guarantee fairness for all citizens and a broadcaster should grant a right of reply to every citizen before passing judgment.
“That is why the commission decided to send a letter of invitation to the CEO of Human Rights Radio and the anchor of the popular ‘Brekete Family’ radio programme, Ahmed Isah, to come to NBC and explain the circumstances surrounding his actions.’’

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has invited Ahmed Isah, the Chief Executive Officer of Human Rights Radio and presenter of the popular Brekete Family Show, for assaulting an interviewee.
Ekanem Antia, Deputy Director, Public Affairs, NBC, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Thursday in Abuja.
”The NBC, as a regulatory body for broadcast media, is concerned over the recent happening at the Human Rights Radio and deemed it fit to invite Isah,” he said.
