The project is being paid for by a bond issue approved this year by the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees. With four floors providing more than 158,000 square feet in space, the hospital will be an extension of the UAMS Medical Center containing:
24 private patient rooms for overnight observation and inpatient stays.
12 examination rooms for Orthopaedic Trauma, Orthopaedic Oncology, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
12 operating rooms in its surgical center.
Eight examination rooms and two procedure suites for use by the Pain Management team.

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The superintendent of Westside Consolidated Schools denies any âcover-upâ following the Arkansas Board of Educationâs decision to penalize a former principal who it says tested positive for drugs while on the job.
According to the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the Education Board levied a $500 fine and suspended Michael Grahamâs license for one year.
Graham was suspended then resignedrather than be fired from his job last September after school officials reportedly âpresented security video and other evidence dating back to early 2020 that tied him to a âprobable methamphetamine lab dump siteâ behind the school.â

PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) - A teacher with the Greene County Tech School District is fighting to keep her job following allegations she taped two students to their chairs.
According to a Wednesday, March 24, news release from the district’s attorney Rebecca Worsham, the administration announced “its intention to recommend the primary school teacher’s termination to the GCT school board.”
The teacher, as provided under the Arkansas Teacher Fair Dismissal Act (ATFDA), has requested a hearing before the school board, Worsham said.
