Thomas Kithier is off to the transfer portal.
With his departure, Kithier is the third Spartan to take that plunge this offseason, joining Jack Hoiberg and Rocket Watts. With Aaron Henry and Josh Langford also announcing departures, Michigan State now stands at 12 out of 13 scholarships filled for next season.

The 6-foot-8 big man will be looking elsewhere to finish out his college career after a junior season where he averaged 2.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. While he did start 14 of MSU’s 26 games this past season, he averaged just 10.8 minutes in a clogged big man rotation.

Michigan State will likely be losing its top scorer, rebounder and assist man all in one player.
Henry said he will retain the services of an agent, and while that doesn’t preclude withdrawing from the draft and returning Michigan State, his announcement had the markings of a player who has ended his college career.

Michigan State junior Aaron Henry announced that he will forgo his senior year of NCAA eligibility and declare for the 2021 NBA Draft. I ve spent three great years in East Lansing and my teammates are my brothers, Henry wrote on Instagram. We ve shared a lot of highs and some lows too and I would not want to experience them with anyone but the guys who have been on this team during my time here.
Henry led the Spartans last season in points (15.4 per game) and rebounds (5.6 per game) while garnering third-team All-Big Ten honors. Michigan State s season ended in a loss to eventual semifinalist UCLA in the NCAA tournament First Four.
