State of disarray: why T20 bash is enough to give selectors a headache

The Big Bash has begun and so has the summer bashing season: bash the selectors, bash the players, bash the umpires, bash the DRS, bash the ICC, bash anyone you can think of - because we have lost a Test match, for goodness sake.
All of the above will be copping enough, so let me find a topic to bash that no one else has laid a glove on.
IT is still all to play for as the two Tynedale teams go into 2021 battling it out for top honours in Division One. Leaders Prudhoe YC Seniors and rivals Haltwhistle Jubilee both picked up maximum points at the weekend as they refuse to lose ground in the anticipated title race. Prudhoe end 2020 as leaders as they defeated Hebburn Town U23 3-1. Man of the match Rob Hayes added to his opening goal for the club the previous week to cap a great performance. He was joined on the scoresheet by teammates Josh Mottram and David Burns. The result took Prudhoe past the 30 point mark season from their opening 13 league fixtures, with 10 victories and one draw.

Mitch Marsh has become the latest player to back calls for a review system in the Big Bash after its absence was again exposed in the Sydney Thunder s win over Perth.
Usman Khawaja survived an appeal for caught behind trying to drive Andrew Tye, with replays showing the batsman had clearly edged the ball.
Tye fumes after Khawaja given not out
Mitchell Marsh believes if the KFC BBL is to introduce the Decision Review System it needs to utilise the full array of technology, rather than a watered down version suggested by Adam Gilchrist.
Perth Scorchers quick Andrew Tye was left in disbelief in their clash with Sydney Thunder on Tuesday when Usman Khawaja was not given out after a caught-behind appeal by umpire Simon Lightbody, whose explanation of the decision was picked up on the stump mic. The bat hit the ground, said Lightbody, to which Tye replied, Hit the ground? It (his bat) was that far off the ground, holding his arms apart.

It was a matter of a gun veteran showing the way for an exciting youngster at Manuka Oval in the BBL tonight, with Sydney Thunder debutant Oliver Davies playing second fiddle to Callum Ferguson as the men in lime powered to a final-over victory.
Ferguson joined Usman Khawaja at the crease at 1-6 in the Thunder s pursuit of the Perth Scorchers 152, and the 36-year-old made the chase look easy from the moment he arrived in the middle.
The seven-wicket triumph means the Thunder have won back-to-back games to climb to fourth on the table, while the Scorchers remain winless after three outings.
