Healthy Blue, a subsidiary of Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Louisiana, is announcing via press release, that they are donating four thousand water bottles to several schools in the Lafayette Parish Public School System.
Healthy Blue Chief Operating Officer Dexter Trivett says Healthy Blue has been working with school systems to help them figure out the best ways that they can assist school systems, teachers and students in unprecedented times.
Filtered water stations, an idea from teachers, have been installed at several schools.
There are several advantages to having water filling stations in the high schools and five middle schools including that plastic water bottles won t need to be recycled or simply thrown away to end up in a landfill.
