A new report reveals that the baby foods sold by a number of major manufacturers may be contaminated with poisonous heavy metals and President Donald Trump s administration, despite knowing about it, did nothing.
The House Oversight Committee released a report on Thursday based on a congressional investigation into the potential presence of toxic heavy metals including lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury in baby foods. Four baby food manufacturers provided Congress with information about the amount of toxic heavy metals in their foods based on their own internal testing, including Beech-Nut Nutrition Company, Gerber, Hain Celestial Group, Inc. and Nurture Inc. Between those four companies, Congress found that the companies allow dangerously high levels of toxic heavy metals in their foods and that the foods sold by the companies frequently exceed even those standards.

letter to acting FDA Commissioner Dr. Janet Woodcock, James said the findings of a recent
report from the Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy in the House of Representatives, were “
distressing.”
Noting that her office would
“explore all options as it relates to baby food manufacturers” [a statement we have asked her office to clarify]
she said:
“The FDA should set standards across all baby foods, not just rice cereal, and require all food manufacturers to test their finished products for toxic metals rather than just their separate ingredients.
Baby food manufacturers caught knowingly selling products with toxic metals
Toxic metals like arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury exist in popular baby food that exceed the permissible levels.

AUS congressional investigation revealed that there are four leading baby food manufacturers which sold baby food that contained high levels of toxic metals. Worse, the manufacturers were aware of it.
